I don’t need to know…
Rosa reminds us that managers don’t need to know everything.
Reading her post, I’m reminded of my own mantra, which I frequently threaten to have tattooed across my stomach in Olde English letters: I don’t need to know, if I know where to go™. Okay, it’s not really trademarked…I just like playing with all those ActiveWords addins.

I couldn’t agree more. When managers think they “need to know” everything, two things happen:
1. It places a great deal of stress on the manager.
2. It cripples the value of their team’s “needing to know.”
As a manager, do yourself a favor and offload the stress of “knowing” to your team. They are going to do the work anyway.
