Business Book Zingers: The Myth of Multitasking by Dave Crenshaw
Multi multi everywhere and too many tasks to do…
by David Zinger
Dave Crenshaw looks at how “doing it all” gets nothing done in The Myth of Multitasking.
- Often we skip dedications when we read a book but I appreciated Dave’s dedication to Carlos who taught him to “move very slowly, but in a great rush.”
- This book is yet another business fable book - this one involves a story between Phil (consultant) and Helen (business owner). I loved the quotations that appeared every so often throughout the book.
- Here is a sample of one of his quotations from page 86: If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one. ~ Russian proverb.
- I encourage you to buy the books to find some of the tips embedded in the fable such as recognizing that multitasking is a lie and resist making active switches while minimizing passive switches.
- I did not fine the fable very compelling but the book was short, and I did find good information in the book and I appreciated the worksheets at the end, such as the truth of time worksheet.
