Poker with Personality: What’s the Deal?

Stephen Shapiro send me a deck of his Personality Poker cards. The cards give a whole new meaning to both the terms poker and personality assessment.

The answer is in the cards. Each card and suit in the deck has their own meaning and the 5 cards you end up with can be a good assessment of understanding your own innovation style in a fun and innovative way.

Hearts. For example red cards are more right brained.  Hearts are about relationships.  Lower cards have a more negative element of the attribute of the suit while high cards have a more positive connotation. The Two of Hearts has the attribute of “high maintenance” while the Ten of Hearts is “encouraging.”

Create your own games. If you want to be really innovative you can create your own games. For example just choose one card and use it as a lens for an activity you are doing right now. For example I will pull out a random card right now for writing this blog post…(Eight of Spades - Logical). I will now go back and view this post from a logical perspective and make any necessary revisions.

Week Innovation. Or deal out a 5-card solitaire hand and use a different card each day for the week to focus your innovative efforts for that day.
