Crucial Skills Newsletters: Management Zingers #5
Management Zingers #5: The Crucial Skills Newsletter

I have been teaching/facilitating the Crucial Conversations course for Shared Visions out of Saskatchewan and Manitoba for almost 2 years. I think it is such a practical course and that participants learn so much from the experience. Even though I have taught it numerous times, I keep learning to improve and enhance my skills to get results and build relationships through conversation.
In the age of RSS, blogs, wikis, social networks, and other social media a newsletter seems old fashioned, almost out of date. I have kept my subscription to only a few newsletters. My favorite newsletter by far is VitalSmarts’ Crucial Skills Newsletter. The newsletters are based on the books Crucial Conversations and Crucial Confrontations and brings the concepts alive through the authors use of stories and case vignettes. The newsletters are primarily written by the authors of the books. It helps you fully comprehend the newsletters if have read the books or taken the course but you could read the newsletters and then decide to read the books or take the course.
I love the use of story and case study to help us develop the crucial skills to handle conversations when the stakes are high, there are differing opinions, and strong emotions.
Below is a list of the newsletters since the start of 2008. I encourage you to read a sample of 3 or 4 newsletters, you won’t be disappointed. If you are anything like me, you will appreciated subscribing to this free terrific source of information on creating conversations that will indeed make a difference.
