Leadership in 60 Seconds
Phil Dourado commented on What’s Phil Reading (funny, Phil, commenting on a post by Phil. But I digress.) that I should pick up a copy of his book The 60 Second Leader, as it’s perfect for Slacker Managers like me who are looking to get a quicker, better, bang for my buck of time. What the heck, I picked it up. I haven’t read it yet (I’ve got 50 or more books I want to read, and I get books to review for Make It Great! almost every week), but I did pick it up.
And then Phil got even nicer, and created a nifty ebook and slideshow called the Little Book of Leadership, which will take you 15 minutes or less to navigate through if you actually think about the points he makes.
Some of the points he makes really struck a nerve with me.
Think Acts of Leadership, Not Leaders “Only Connect.” E.M. Forster Failure is Not the Opposite of Success Be Lucky
Of course, there’s a ton more you can learn from Phil, so I strongly encourage you go read the Little Book of Leadership, and if you like the style, The 60 Second Leader seems to be written in a similar straighforward, simple fashion. And I like that!
Don’t worry Phil, I will still read The 60 Second Leader. Just not for a little bit longer.
[Phil Gerbyshak is always reading, always learning, and always growing, and he loves to help others Make It Great! He encourages you to do the same, even if you’re a slacker manager!]

Hello Phil:
There’s one excellent, fun and easy to read book that I would highly recommend for managers. The book made me smile, laugh and reminisce about my days in Corporate America during the 80s and 90s. Chapters are bite sized with interesting cartoon illustrations to entertain the reader. Not only was it entertaining but it was full of relevant, real-life stuff with excellent tips at the end of each chapter. It was very well written.
It is “Lead Well and Prosper” by Nick McCormick. His book is available at http://www.begoodadventures.com
I loved it even though I’m not a manager (I’m a motivational speaker and author).
Hope you pick this one up - it’s worth it. I was VERY SURPRISED and pleasantly so.

That’s a great suggestion Stephen. I know Nick and have read his book. It’s a very good read, and I’ll talk about it here soon. Nick’s book definitely made me smile too.
The brevity of the book just made it all the more impactful.
Appreciate the suggestion friend! Thanks for stopping by!
