Labor Day Management
To all those in the US who are celebrating Labor Day, I wish you a very happy holiday! I hope you’re getting some rest as most companies are closed today (mine included).
So what does Labor Day have to do with management?
Did you know…
Labor Day was created because the Central Labor Union wanted a day off to recognize the working (laboring) man?
As a manager, what are you doing to ensure those that labor for you are recognized? Do you celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries, and other special days? Or do you wait until it’s Labor Day, and just tell them to have a nice day off? Are you helping their work/life balance or hindering it? Do you know what makes them happy, how they want to be celebrated? Are you empowering them or holding them down?
Happy Labor Day! Recognize and celebrating those that labor with you!
