A Sunday Sampler of Management
What are you reading as a Slacker Manager?
Here is a brief outline of 3 excellent management posts that were published this week:
- Employee Needs, Silent Communication and What to Do. This is a short and insightful post by the thoughtful and funny Steve Roesler at All Things Workplace about the power of silence in work. Is silence golden? How do you manage silence? Steve asks: What if we began intentionally teaching about the impact of silence?
- Ask Yourself, “What do we do things This Way? Bud Bilanich is a prolific management writer and this post will get you thinking about what you are doing in a new way. Be careful once you start reading Bud you might never stop until Monday!
- The Power of Gratitude. Carmine Coyote from Slow Leadership really makes you slow down. Both Phil and I believe that Slacker Managers have an attitude of gratitude — I love the last line in Carmine’s article, You cannot buy goodwill of that kind, no matter what incentives you offer. Today’s bonus may become tomorrow’s expectation, but genuine gratitude can last for a lifetime.
Phil and I will not be silent (sorry Steve) about this: We have so much gratitude for all of you who are reading our work and helping us to carry on and evolve Slacker Manager. Bren built something that Phil and I love working with. We are also thinking about how we are doing things and look forward to more improvements and enhancements as we learn more about Slacker Manager, our readers, and each other.
David Zinger loves to read the phenomenal work
of so many terrific management and leadership bloggers.

I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla’ Palmer’s Personal Development list obligates each of us to also post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power”) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post it. This list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html
