Cut Me Some Slack
When was the last time you tried out?
What did you try out for? Did you make the cut?
As the father of 3 sports-playing-teenagers who have experienced a wide range of tryouts I thought I would tryout for Slacker Manager. I feel like I am in a hockey rink about to show my backward skating as judges in the stands scribble notes and murmur, “tsk, tsk.”
Most of all for Slacker Manager, I don’t want to trip and fall and I wonder can a Zamboni pave the way into the path of least resistance.
Instead of backward skating the judges at B5 are probably much more attuned to Shakespeare, asking: David - To B5 or not B5?
Perhaps I should be ready with one of those Shakespearean insults for B5media if I get cut, such as - O thou puny, rough-hewn lout. Oh well there goes the fantastic income that I would have earned by becoming the Slacker. No one wants to be called puny or to know that someone is planning to call them puny after July 27th.
Of course is it not about David at all so I will forget about backward skating, Shakespeare, and the Zamboni.
Slacker Manager has been an exceptional site that needs to keep on going. I have been actively involved with management and leadership blogs. I have been writing 3 leadership/management blogs: Strength Based Leadership Zinger on Employee Engagement and Dr. Z’s Leadership Institute. Two of the blogs are on WordPress so maybe that will impress the judges. I am open to change.
In all honesty, I don’t even know if I would be the right person for this site but I know I want the site to keep on going and if a guy who’s name begins with the last letter of the alphabet and has a fondness for Zambonies can try out then I hope it encourages you to try out.
Even if you don’t want to pit yourself against me, you can place yourself with me, and we can do it as a thank you to Bren who was able to put slacker and manager together and make it work.
Come on, I’ll race you to the net (hockey net or net income).
