Two quick updates
I’m still suffering in Las Vegas without much time to blog, but I figured I’d throw up a couple of notes here. First, I recently mentioned Laurence Haughton’s seminar that he did and I said I’d provide the link to the archive when it was finished. Here’s the link. You gotta jump through a couple of hoops to get to the thing you can download, but it’s not terribly invasive. If you missed it, now you can enjoy the deathless version.
Second, I’ve been adding a little bit of content to the SplashCast player that I mentioned in the previous post. One item in particular is pretty cool (well, I think so anyway). I did a brief (6.5 minutes) interview with Matt Haughey and posted it there in the “Yamhill.TV” channel. If you don’t know Matt, he’s the guy behind Metafilter and PVRblog. If you’re not familiar with either of those sites, here’s the quick version. PVRblog is for folks who dig their Tivos and other DVR/PVR units. Metafilter is a kind of community weblog, with several different flavors. My favorite flavor, and one you may have seen if you follow Lifehacker, is the Ask MeFi site. It’s where people ask all kinds of questions and get generally pretty high quality responses. So Matt’s kind of a big deal. :-) You wouldn’t know he’s so prolific though–super cool and humble dude and a lot of fun to talk to. Go watch.

Brendon, that is awesome that you’re putting content like that into SplashCast. Did you know that you can select a sidebar size to place the player as a media display tool that’s always present on every page? Please feel free to drop me a line if you have any trouble using the service or want to compare notes on creative inspiration.
Have fun,
