Roll Forward Your Mental Calendar

Thanks for the opportunity, Brendon.
I am a big believer in the importance of paying attention to details. Unfortunately, people often judge us so harshly for a spelling error that they are unable to see through it to the value of our content. As we start this new year, the hardest detail for me to keep track of is that pesky “7.”
I saw a presentation today and tripped over the copyright notice at the bottom of every slide. No, it didn’t say “Copyright ©2006.” Amazingly, it said “Copyright ©2002.”
We all know how this happened. The presenter used an old template or copied an old presentation to start his new slide deck. Then he neglected to review the details of the presentation. Apparently, he has been doing this for five years.
We can do at least two things to avoid this problem. The first is easy, stop reading now and go update your templates to 2007. The second takes more effort: Carefully review the details of what your create.
Happy 2006, oops, I mean 2007.

“what your create”
I’m thinking this was done on purpose…

I reviewed this article a dozen times looking for the little error that was bound to be there. I wish I could say it was on purpose.
