Quought for the day

by Bren on December 26th, 2006

UPDATE: Here’s mine!

Though I’ve been remiss about pointing it out, hopefully you haven’t missed it. In case you have, here’s your chance to catch up with the rest of us. Rajesh Setty, an entrepreneurial powerhouse who blogs at Life Beyond Code, has taken the bull by the horns and has asked a TON of people what one question they’d advise others to ask themselves in 2007. What a project! You should take a look at the questions he’s put up so far! (And no, “quought” isn’t a misspelling.) Seriously, this project could be a book unto itself, and these questions will keep you thinking for days.

The folks asking the questions really run the gamut. There are people you’ve definitely heard of, and people you may not be so familiar with. The questions people have asked are deep. Every one. Some are deceptively simple and zen-like (and those are my favorite), while others are more detailed. Regardless, every one of them will keep you thinking for a long time.

I love this, thanks, Raj! (disclaimer: Raj asked me for my question, too. I’m not giving it away here, though!)

thanks for the connection information! I love the questions, and I cannot wait to use them as part of my staff development program. I would love to see this format in a book form. Can you imagine some of the responses? I also will ponder using them for an activity with the elders I work with; I will let you know what the oldest generation comes up with in response!

That is a thought-provoking blog. But Bren, I’m really stuck on your question. How do you identify your path?

Thank you for posing the question. I’m going to be working on this for awhile.

@vj: Oh man, that’s the million dollar question! The sages through the ages (hey, that rhymes!) have asked the same thing. I don’t think I have the answer, other than to say that it is usually revealed via extended self-observation. Watch yourself and examine your motives. Figure out what’s really driving you. Pay attention to what you love and what gets you excited. Follow the positive stuff. And, if you a contemplative sort like me, you spend some regular time in silence and prayer. Many have found journaling to help them get breakthrough insights. Good luck to you…
