Backup awareness month
June is apparently backup awareness month. Who knew? But it’s never a bad time to get better at backing up your data. Looks like Maxtor and Seagate have teamed up for a viral site to promote backups (and a chance to win an external drive).
From the email:
To better educate people on this important topic, Seagate/Maxtor has created an
informational Web site (www.backupawareness.com) that provides backup tips,
resources, best practices, and an online game. There’s also a daily drive-a-day giveaway for those visiting the Backup
Awareness site during June for a chance to win a Maxtor OneTouch III Mini! In
addition, Seagate/Maxtor has produced two new podcasts with more information on
BAM and the virtues of data backup, which can be downloaded from the Seagate
Backup Awareness Podcast Channel.A recently-launched microsite, www.maxtorsolutions.com, is designed to help
consumers, creative pros and small business owners better understand and select
the best storage and backup solutions for their particular needs.

Seagate and Maxtor merged recently, so that’s why they are teaming up for this promotion.
