PC buyer’s guide

by Bren on March 29th, 2006

AllBusiness.com has a pretty good buyer’s guide for desktop computers up right now. They wrote and asked if I’d take a look–I did and I like it.

The guide is aimed at small to medium sized businesses, not the individual buyer. What I particularly appreciated about this guide is that it fills the gap between the individual buyer and the large institutional buyer of workplace computer hardware. I’m the guy my friends (and my mom) call when they need ‘puter help. I’m not a hardware or software genius, but I apparently seem knowledgable (little do they know…). What I really liked about this guide is that it doesn’t assume too much, nor does it come across as dumbed down. It walks that fine line between making you feel stupid and making you wish you’d spent your time elsewhere.

It covers all the bases from general buying advice, to configuration for your business, to ratings and offering shopping deals. Probably worth bookmarking if you’re the person making these kinds of decisions.
