Slacker Manager

My new best friend

by Bren on February 27th, 2005

I don’t even know him, but I can already tell that Fred Gratzon is my new best friend.  His blog, The Lazy Way to Success, is right up my alley and his book looks like a winner too!

Fred’s book is a great read and a visual delight in the bargain.
If I may sum it up: LESS IS MORE & MAKE WORK FUN:)

I’ve always believed in working smarter, not harder. It all goes back to the old song by Hoyt Axton.
    Lyric:
“Work your fingers to the bone and what do you get?
    Boney Fingers!”

    –Boney Fingers :)

Aren’t you a sweetheart? Thanks for your generous endorsement.

Needless to say, I wholeheartedly and unequivocally embrace slacking. In fact, I see it as the key to enormous success if done without restraint. I never got the hang of work and I certainly don’t understand why anyone would actually want to work hard. I define work in this way — if you rather be doing something else, then you are working. Given that we have been blessed with this gloriously and mysteriously divine gift of life, why would any sane human being want to squander a second of it doing stuff he or she doesn’t want to do? Frankly, I’d be too ashamed to admit that I worked. It would be like admitting that I am not intelligent enough or creative enough or lucky enough to have found an easier way of accomplishing the same thing. The point is there is always an easier way of accomplishing something but the secret to finding it is you first have TO SLACK!

All progress in life is driven by lazy people wanting to avoid work yet still get the job done.

All the very best to you and your readers.

    Long live the hammock!
