Browser wars

by Bren on November 15th, 2004

A VC posted about the browsers his readers are using–FireFox is eating away at IE.  Pretty remarkable, really, when you consider that the majority of PC’s come preloaded with IE.  I mean why would people bother to install a new browser when they’ve got that one that came with the machine.  Note that I’m talking about normal folks, here.  Not people like me who litter their computers with a wasteland of rarely used gizmos.  ‘Course, for me, FireFox is anything but rarely used.  I love it.  And it looks like the folks visting here love it too.

A couple of my favorite extensions for FireFox are the tabbrowser extension, which gives super-control over tab behavior, and AdBlock, which lets you selectively block advertisements (yeah, even Google Ads).  Why would I tell you about AdBlock when I’m hoping you’ll click a few for me?  I guess I must really love you.

Oh yeah, by the way, I enabled full-post RSS summaries after Micropersuasion made me feel guilty about it.  Enjoy!
